I am very fortunate to shoot the weddings of so many people and to enjoy their special day with them, but it means an awful lot to me to receive feedback and testimonials like this one, written entirely by Dean and not changed in the slightest by me... When my fiancé (at the time) and I started to look round for a photographer for our special day, we were both a little apprehensive to be honest. With the risk of sounding stereotypical here, we were both unsure how a photographer would react to a ‘gay’ wedding. We wanted someone who was comfortable around us as a couple and wouldn’t treat us any differently to that of a ‘straight’ wedding. From the minute we met Nigel (of Inspire an Image Wedding Photography), we knew that we were on to something good. He immediately put us at ease and any apprehension we were feeling was lifted. He showed us our options of the packages available for the day, not pressurising us in the slightest, and really made a good impression on both of us. We then left the meeting and although we had arranged to meet up with some other photographers, we thought why bother? Why not stick with the one who had really impressed us; we then cancelled the other meetings and contacted Nigel to book him within a few days of the meeting. A few weeks prior to the wedding, Nigel arranged a pre-wedding photo shoot at a location of our choice. This provided us with the opportunity to get used to being photographed in a natural way, like we would on the big day. We chose a local park on a day where we were extremely lucky with the weather. We walked round the park and Nigel stopped us where his observant eye caught an opportunity for an inspired image. We had an amazing few hours in the park and the images we were shown a few weeks later were absolutely jaw-dropping. Who’d have thought we were so photogenic? When the big day finally arrived, and the real nerves started kicking in, Nigel and his co-photographer Darren turned up and again made us all at ease with immediate effect. As the day progressed and the camera was clicking, we knew we’d have some great shots. We had loads of naturally taken photos done and these were done without even our knowledge half of the time! But this was exactly what we wanted – natural photos to capture reactions from our guests and hold our memories for a lifetime. We had some great posed shots taken also – our favourite being one taken in the rain (which we now have framed in our lobby at home!). Once we received the photo album, we both had tears! It was beautifully bounded and the photos we chose (from about 600!) were stunning! The album is now stored away and will forever be something we take out from time to time to remind us of the special day that we experienced. If anyone is considering a photographer for a wedding, or any other special event, my husband and I highly recommend Nigel! He is absolutely fantastic and we cannot say thank you enough for everything you did for us! Everyone who attended the big day commented about how great Nigel had been during the day as well as being stunned from how good the photos are!
