Destination Wedding Photography in Spain.
After a photographer friend of mine was struck down with some health issues I was asked to step in and shoot this wedding in Almeria in Spain - I mean I had to think about it, for about 7 seconds, then got straight on with the job of rearranging and organising travel etc. I was accompanied on the trip with another photographer friend of mine who thankfully spoke a little Spanish!!
When we arrived in Spain the night before the wedding we were met by friends of Yesi & Jose who had kindly offered to drive us from the airport to the hotel/venue. Thankfully they spoke a little English and we all managed to get by and get on for the trip! Then in true Spanish style the whole family were having a meal the night before the wedding - Yesi & Jose were so welcoming and even invited us to join them in their pre-wedding celebrations.
After we'd discussed a few details for the following day and tried to figure out if there were any Spanish traditions we needed to know about it was time to head to bed and get some sleep for the big day!
On the wedding day my colleague went to shoot the groom prep as the groom spoke less English than the bride, so I was left with the bride and her party and so began an amazing day!! In the sweltering heat, we shot some absolutely beautiful images and pulled out a bit of creativity with some flashguns and coloured gels. Take a look at the wedding images below;
