So last year was an extremely busy year for wedding photography, shooting loads of new venues, a few old ones, shooting friends and family as well as new clients too. I'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to my main second photographer Richard Hanley, for his awesome second shooting, company and creative ideas that he brings. Another massive thanks to Bill Nixon of Flying Frogs for his help, assistance and second shooting at a number of pre and post wedding shoots. Of course a huge thanks to my long suffering wife, who has also been so supportive of my photography work, thank you all! Hopefully 2019 is even more successful, with more new venues and continued support from you amazing people!! Enjoy the video and please feel free to like, comment and share! It's been a very busy year in 2018, from models, family and portrait shoots, one to one training days, right through to running landscape photography workshops, shooting weddings, wildlife and pet portraits and much more inbetween!! I've put together a little video to show the whole year in review, to say a really big and sincere thanks to everyone who has supported me and helped make 2018 such a great year for photography. With more workshops and wedding bookings coming in it looks like 2019 is only going to be bigger and better. Long may it continue...! Thank you again and Happy New Year to you all, I hope 2019 is a good one for all of us! I am very happy to say that today, Inspire an Image Photography has been announced as the Best UK Full-service Wedding Photography Company in the UK, by the Lux Global Wedding awards.
Many media outlets focus on wedding dress and venue providers; however, LUXlife Magazine know that there is so much more to the industry than that. Encompassing everyone from wedding planners and decorators through to tailors, hotels, caterers, drivers and everything in between, the market is filled with businesses that deserve recognition for their hard work and commitment. As such, Wedding Awards provide this and showcase the brightest and best from across the wedding industry. Every day these firms are creating unique experiences that their clients will treasure forever, and we are honoured to be able to shine the spotlight on them and give our readers a tantalising glimpse into the hard work that goes on behind the glitz and the glamour. Laura Hunter, Awards Coordinator, comments: “Worth billions, the wedding industry is a vibrant and eclectic space filled with dedicated individuals who are working tirelessly to create a truly memorable event for their clients. With couples constantly looking for new and creative ways to share their special day, the market has become incredibly diverse, and as such it is my pleasure to showcase the talent and hard work of a range of winners from across the market. Congratulations on your success and long may it continue.” The Inspire an Image Winners listing is here: https://www.lux-review.com/winners/inspire-an-image-photography/ I am very fortunate to shoot the weddings of so many people and to enjoy their special day with them, but it means an awful lot to me to receive feedback and testimonials like this one, written entirely by Dean and not changed in the slightest by me... When my fiancé (at the time) and I started to look round for a photographer for our special day, we were both a little apprehensive to be honest. With the risk of sounding stereotypical here, we were both unsure how a photographer would react to a ‘gay’ wedding. We wanted someone who was comfortable around us as a couple and wouldn’t treat us any differently to that of a ‘straight’ wedding. From the minute we met Nigel (of Inspire an Image Wedding Photography), we knew that we were on to something good. He immediately put us at ease and any apprehension we were feeling was lifted. He showed us our options of the packages available for the day, not pressurising us in the slightest, and really made a good impression on both of us. We then left the meeting and although we had arranged to meet up with some other photographers, we thought why bother? Why not stick with the one who had really impressed us; we then cancelled the other meetings and contacted Nigel to book him within a few days of the meeting. A few weeks prior to the wedding, Nigel arranged a pre-wedding photo shoot at a location of our choice. This provided us with the opportunity to get used to being photographed in a natural way, like we would on the big day. We chose a local park on a day where we were extremely lucky with the weather. We walked round the park and Nigel stopped us where his observant eye caught an opportunity for an inspired image. We had an amazing few hours in the park and the images we were shown a few weeks later were absolutely jaw-dropping. Who’d have thought we were so photogenic? When the big day finally arrived, and the real nerves started kicking in, Nigel and his co-photographer Darren turned up and again made us all at ease with immediate effect. As the day progressed and the camera was clicking, we knew we’d have some great shots. We had loads of naturally taken photos done and these were done without even our knowledge half of the time! But this was exactly what we wanted – natural photos to capture reactions from our guests and hold our memories for a lifetime. We had some great posed shots taken also – our favourite being one taken in the rain (which we now have framed in our lobby at home!). Once we received the photo album, we both had tears! It was beautifully bounded and the photos we chose (from about 600!) were stunning! The album is now stored away and will forever be something we take out from time to time to remind us of the special day that we experienced. If anyone is considering a photographer for a wedding, or any other special event, my husband and I highly recommend Nigel! He is absolutely fantastic and we cannot say thank you enough for everything you did for us! Everyone who attended the big day commented about how great Nigel had been during the day as well as being stunned from how good the photos are!
